St. Martin’s Road is a new stand alone Registered Children’s Home located in Bristol that will run for 52 weeks of the year. It is a service that will specialise in working with young people who have a diagnosis of autism and are likely to have a range of other complex needs including learning difficulties. The young people may well enter the home at a point of crisis in their lives. As a result they are likely to display high levels of behaviours that challenge.
At St. Martin’s Road we are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with people on the autistic spectrum. This is to ensure the highest quality of staff support.
Roles within the Education and Care job family are dedicated to ensuring the young people are safe, healthy and able to make a positive contribution and realise their full potential through enjoyment, achievement and economic well being.
•Contributing to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the learning, social and independence activities and experiences;
•Contributing to the daily running of the home;
•Supporting the young people with all their needs whilst encouraging independence;
•Working effectively as part of a team;
•Managing the well-being and behaviour of the young people ensuring any significant behavioural or physical occurrences are promptly addressed and reported, referring to a senior member of staff as appropriate.
In return, Continual Professional Development will be encouraged for all staff including a focus on autism specific training and opportunities.
It is essential that applicants have either attained or are prepared to work towards Level 3 Children & Young People’s Workforce Diploma qualification.
To enable us to comply with the requirements laid down in the National Minimum Standards for Children's Homes, we are unable to offer employment to anyone under the age of 21 years.
St. Martin’s Road is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
