Description:

Would you like to get better at chess? Are you looking for a chess coach for your child? Or maybe you want to teach chess to your children but don't know how to go about it?

I am a chess teacher and coach specialising in foundation training of juniors though I take on adults as well. I specialise in working with children of all ages, even 6-7 year olds. Working with children and chess are my two passions and I have years of experience in both.

I am very good at teaching chess from scratch. If you are a casual player but would like to play better (maybe play in a tournament? or join a chess club and play in a league? or just beat this annoying brother-in-law of yours who always has the upper hand I can bring you up to a good competitive standard. If you already play competitive chess and are looking for a serious coach, I'd love to work with you as long as your grade is below 130, as this level is my specialty.

Professional qualifications? I am an Accreddited Coach with the English Chess Federation.

Experience? I teach chess to some 450 primary school pupils in Bristol and Gloucestershire and coach the free weekly Henleaze Library Children's Chess Club every Saturday afternoon.

Confidence? I keep an up-to-date full enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) certificate (criminal record check

My fee is £20 per hour for one-to-one coaching in person or over Skype.
