Based in a Bristol city centre ethical workspace, LeLan Solutions was established as a technical communications consultancy in 2011 and now has a portfolio of clients spanning the public, academic and charity sectors. Projects focus on the development of bespoke methods for disseminating technical information to non-technical audiences, ranging from workshopping, to the creation of interface apps for statistical models, and beyond.
The role will involve both the adaptation of existing applications from other platforms (such as VBA) and the creation of new apps from specification. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing both server-side and front-end solutions, will have continuous input into the design and specification processes and will be expected to actively participate in discussions with Clients.
LeLan Solutions is part of a European consortium which was recently awarded €2m in funding to pursue research into the cost-effectiveness of tobacco control measures across the EU. Among other responsibilities, the Junior .NET Developer will be instrumental in the delivery of a web platform to disseminate the project results.
The following are essential criteria for the role:
- Demonstrable experience of leading on interactive web development
- Extensive knowledge/experience of the following:
o HTML5 & CSS3
o .NET Framework
o C# or Visual Basic
- Interest in public sector / charity sector
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- At least 2 years' industry experience
- Experience with .NET MVC and Entity Framework
- Understanding of quantitative data analysis methods
- Interest in / understanding of public health issues
A graduate qualification in a relevant information technology subject would be beneficial, as would an understanding of statistical methods. Industry specific training will be provided.
LeLan Solutions is a small but emerging company. Although this post is advertised as a 12 month contract, the successful candidate will be involved in the next phase of the company's development and will therefore have an excellent prospect of permanent employment and rapid promotion.
